Administrative Rules of Lodgers Staying in the Foreign Expert Building
The Foreign Expert Building of CTBU provides long- and short-term housing for foreign experts and teachers working at the university as well as for their families.
Residents must provide a valid ID (passport or residence permit) for housing registration.
Upon check-in, the lodger will be given a list of items provided in their rooms. The lodger should check all the articles provided in the room against the list together with a staff member, and sign it for confirmation. Upon check-out, the lodger will pay the full price for any lost or willfully damaged property.
No room in the FEB shall be used for any activities against Chinese law or CTBU regulations or for any religious activities.
The room is only for lodger’s own use but cannot be transferred or leased to others. Generally, it is not allowed to put others up; if it is necessary to do so, an application should be made to and approval received from the ICEO, followed by the registration of all guests.
To ensure the comfort of other lodgers, please observe the timetable. Visits have to be registered and shall be not started earlier than 8 am nor ended later than 10 pm.
To maintain a safe and quiet environment, no parties or dances shall be held in the Foreign Expert Building.
Room keys should be kept with the lodger or in the Duty Room. Keys should not be given to non-residents. Lodgers should promptly report a lost key to the Duty Room staff or to the ICEO. Lodgers will be charged for lost keys.
In the event that any appliance in the lodger’s room or in a common area is out of order, inform the Duty Room staff or the ICEO. Do not attempt to fix it yourself.. If any article is damaged or unusable, the staff will remove it.
Use caution when operating electrical appliances and remember to turn them off when leaving the room. The lodger is responsible for any damage resulting from improper use. Please take good care of Cuihu Villa and public facilities inside, and pay attention to public sanitation and hygiene. No posting or graffiti is allowed in public places. Do not dispose of left-over food in the sink to prevent blockage. Do not throw garbage through the window but put into a plastic bag and place it outside the room before 8:00 am or 3:00 pm for disposal by the cleaner. No pets like cats or dogs shall be kept in the FEB.
The lodger should store important belongings, such as IDs and personal documents, carefully to prevent theft. Windows and doors should be locked at night and before leaving the FEB.. Use the power safely. It is forbidden to extend power lines or cable TV lines without the authorization of the ICEO. . Observe the regulations of fire prevention; it is prohibited to keep flammable materials and explosives indoors. The lodger is financially responsible for any damage or loss caused by failure to observe these regulations.
If any theft, fire, or accident occurs, the lodger should keep the scene intact, immediately report the incident to the ICEO and the Duty Room staff, and assist the relevant department in their investigation and handling of the case.
